Mosquitoes , Hemorrhagic Dengue and Chikungunya
A Mosquito spread diseases by feeding on multiple hosts and transmitting infectious agents from one one host to the next. In dogs, mosquitoes can transmit heartworms, which affect blood circulation and cause lung problems and heart disease. In humans, mosquitoes can transmit two dangerous tropical diseases: Hemorrhagic Dengue and Chikungunya. Mosquitoes breed in standing water, so avoiding these areas is a good way to reduce exposure to these insects. During warm weather, the use of products that are a repellent of mosquitoes is essential in both humans and dogs.
