Islam - The good gestures of everyday life

in #health7 years ago

I'm personally not following any religion, but I found many positive practice in the Muslim behavior. I learned about many different religion, and I wanted to share with you what I discovered. Some might seem extreme, but if you think about it deeply, it make sense.

Here are some point I found really interesting about it.

At table :

1- Before eating:

  • His food must be honestly acquired without any doubt of illegitimacy
  • By eating, the Muslim proposes to acquire more strength to devote himself to the worship of God and his loved ones. If he feeds this intention, his eating and drinking will be worthy of reward.
  • He must wash his hands before eating, if they are dirty or if he is not on their cleanliness.
  • The Muslim is satisfied with what he finds, without criticizing him. If he likes he eats otherwise he abstains.

2- During the meal:

  • The Muslim begins to invoke the name of God: "Bismillah" (in the name of God, that's the translation I think)
  • It does not blow on a hot food and does not eat it in this state. Let it cool down. He does not also blow into the water while drinking and must three times interrupt drinking to breathe outside the container.
  • If part of what he eats falls, he cleans it and puts it back in his mouth. (How many times have I seen people just trashing it?)
"He begins by serving the most considerable, and then he takes turns, those on his right, he will be the last to serve."
  • He does not begin to eat first, whereas there are among the guests older people or more deserving than him.
  • He does not force his friend or guest to insist on eating. (That not to bother him)
  • He does not look at those who eat (not to intimidate them). On the contrary, he has to lower his eyes, not to look after them so as not to embarrass them.
  • He avoids during the meal to talk about things of a nature to disgust the guests.
  • If he eats with a poor man, he gives him preference over himself. If he eats with friends, he will be casual and kind.

3- After the meal:

  • He stops eating before being completely satisfied, to avoid the indigestion that causes troubles and causes loss of endearment.
  • He picks up the remains of fallen food.
  • He cures his teeth after eating and cleans his mouth to give him better breath.
  • When he finishes, he thanks God.

Clothing:

This category is to clothe in a divine order Put on your best clothes at the time of each office. Eat, drink and avoid excess. God, or any wise human does not like to exceed the just limits.

  • The Muslim should never wear silk like a suit, turban or other. The Prophet said: Do not wear silk, the one who wears it here will be deprived in the other world. Showing silk in his right hand and gold in his left hand, he said: These two are forbidden to the males of my people, authorized to their females.
  • he must not lengthen his coat, his pants, his coat until he reaches the ankles. The Prophet says: "Everything that goes beyond the ankles in the habit is from hell."
  • The Muslim prefers white clothes or clothes of other colors although these are allowed.
  • The Muslim woman extends her coat until covering her heels, covers her head, pulls the veil over the neck, throat and chest.
  • The Muslim has no right to wear gold.
  • the man is allowed to wear a silver ring.
  • The Muslim has no right to dress as a woman, nor as a man. The Prophet said: God has cursed the man who dresses as a woman and the woman who dresses as a man.
  • The Muslim when he shoes his shoes must always start with the right foot and when he removes it starts with the left foot.
  • In dressing too, it must start with the right side.
  • it is not permissible to sit wrapped in his coat with the arms trapped inside, nor to walk one foot shod and the other naked.

Modesty :

By its nature, the Muslim is modest and decent. This quality that qualifies him is inherent in his belief. The Prophet says: "Faith includes more than 70 branches or more than 60. The best of these branches is to attest that there is no God except Allah and the last is to rid the public thoroughfare of what obstructs it. "Modesty is one of the branches of faith." The Prophet says: "Modesty is only good."

Example of Modesty: May God have mercy on a woman who, having lost her child, went to fetch him from a group of people, his face veiled. "Look at this woman says one of them, she inquires of her child the veiled face!". Having heard her, she answered him: "Man, it is better to lose my child than to lose my modesty!" But modesty does not prevent the Muslim from saying what is true, to learn, to exhort to do good and to condemn evil.

The sleep :

For the Muslim, sleep is a blessing that God has given to his creatures to rest their bodies so that they can continue to grow. He will also be able to keep his ardor to carry out the task He has assigned to him. In their saint writing it is said: "By an effect of His goodness He made for you the day and the day: one to give you rest, the other to enable you, through your activity, to seek His favor." - "We made you sleep a relaxation!" to testify of his gratitude for this benefit, the Muslim must behave as follows:

1- If there is no need to remain after the prayer of "Icha", such as studies, conversation with the guests or the members of his family, he must not drag but get to bed early.

2- He tries to remake his ablutions before going to bed. The Prophet recommend: "Before you go to bed, do your ablution as for prayer."

3- He lies first on the right side and rests his head on the palm of his right hand. It can then change position and turn on the left side.

4- He must never stretch out on his stomach, neither day nor night, "It is the posture of the damned," says the Prophet, "this position is detested by God." In case he wakes up at night, he says: "There is no God but Allah, the One without a partner. To him, the Kingship, the Supreme Praise and the Almighty. Glory to Him! The Praised, the One and the Greatest. No power, no strength, but by him. Then we present to the Lord his vows which will be well received. The Prophet said: "Whoever wakes up at night and recites this prayer will have his wishes answered."

I hope you learned more about the Muslim, and that you'll know how to behave if you go to visit their beautiful culture one day.

The very finest heresies are 95% truth and goodness.

That's a strange comment to understand. :D

This is very educational - I've always also thought that breaking for prayer and various intervals throughout the day is an excellent practice, as is fasting, good for self-discipline, although I think the whole sunrise to sunset thing needs updating so it's a little healthier!

You're right. You seem to already have a really healthy way of living. Keep on going on the right path my brother!
