On Becoming High Maintenance (10).jpg

When you go to the grocery store, it can be sometimes difficult to choose such grocery products as eggs, meat, fish and milk. There are signs everywhere labeling the products as natural and organic ones but is it true and what is the differnce between all the products? Learning what specific names mean can help you decide whether you should really spend more money on products or it is just a marketing lie?

"Natural" is assosiated with fruit and vegetables. But it is just a market move and it is one of the ways to convince a person to buy a product because as we know all fruits and vegetables are natural, right? Let`s see what is organic. Organic foods are grown without pesticides and chemical fertilizers. There are two main advantages of organic food. First, you help the environment because chemicals are used in the wild. Secondly, you can avoid chemicals and eat healthy food. However, organic products are generally more expensive, if you have a lack of money you can peel such fruit, like oranges and bananas. After all, when you are discarded the peel, you are also discarded the chemicals. But it is impossible to do this with apples because you eat them with peels. No matter what you buy there, rinse off the food after you bring it home.

Another tricky label you see is the words “no hormones”. And it is always a lie because all animals naturally produce hormones. Hormones help animals and even people regulate body organs. All meat products have hormones. Labels really mean is that the hormones were not given to animals which is done sometimes to increase milk production. However, milk and meat are not harmful for people in spite of hormones they contain.

Finally, a label on eggs and meat can define if the pet was penned or caged. It does not influence on the quality of meat but it is connected with animal rights. These products can be a little more expensive. But if you want to make a human choice please do it. Reading labels and to choose healthy products can be difficult but you should learn to do it because your health is the biggest treasure.

Wow!This post very nice..I like this food..I appreciate your blog..Thanks for sharing this post..Best of luck.

My decisions with buying organic definitely comes down to the point that you made about peels. If I am not going to eat the outermost part of the fruit or vegetables, I certainly won't buy organic, but I do try to buy organic otherwise. I do it not necessarily do it for MY personal health, but I want to support companies that work to problem solve for the greater good instead of saying, "yeah, that seems to hurt living things and bugs are living things, so spray away!"

How do you feel about "Non-GMO"?
