RE: Fasting for Your Own Health and for the Planet

in #health7 years ago

I'm not sure if what I do is exactly intermittent fasting.. But I barely eat during the day.. I just haven't really studies how to do it exactly.

Awesome post :) I like that picture of you! Talk soon.

If you are not hungry, don't eat. You won't die. Trust me! No, better yet, trust your own body, and when you do eat, give it high quality food. The whole idea is to eat all your calories in a smaller time frame of the day, so the rest of the time, your body is digesting fully and then healing itself. When we eat, around 30% of our daily energy is used to digest. And if you are eating all the time, it is just constantly digesting and not given time to heal whatever it may need to heal. The ideal is to fast between 12-16 hours (or more if it feels right), and then eat within the hours you have chosen not to fast. You can eat your first meal whenever you feel ready, or is good for your daily life deands. I have never liked eating first thing, so I sometimes don't eat until 11, 1, or even 3 pm. Some people feel they must eat upon waking. Do what feels right for you. When we didn't have grocery stores or formal societies, we ate only when we could. Sometimes, not even once a day. Our bodies can survive many days without eating, and if more people did not eat daily or every hour besides when they sleep, we would be a much healthier society. Read up on it, there is so much great, scientific info and studies already. Also, if you work out, try to do it before you eat. Your body will become even more efficient. Try it and see how you feel. You will also have tons of energy.

And, thank you for liking my photo. :)
