In Pakistan there is one family whose children have an unusual occurrence. Thick layers of skin growing in their hands and feet make it difficult to move.
Habibullah Bhatti (19), Mehrunisa (15), Nasebullah Bhatti (10), and Khairunisa (6) are suspected of having a rare condition epidermolytic hyperkeratosis

The cause is thought to be due to a genetic mutation responsible for keratin production.

Keratin is the protein that makes up the outermost layer of the skin. People with epidermolytic hyperkeratosis are known to have uncontrolled skin growth
According to Genetics Home Reference it is estimated that this condition occurs in one of 200-300 thousand people in the world
Because epidermolytic hyperkeratosis is a genetic condition there is no drug that can cure it.
