RE: How To Make Your Own Natural Eyeliner (Instructions With Photos)

in #health7 years ago

I saw this post of yours today (very late). Just wanted to say 'right on the mark!', it must have been about 25 years ago I did a study and a string of presentations regarding the chemical dangers of cosmetics. Cosmetics is the largest unregulated industry in the world, but even if it is known I doubt women would stop using them.

As I delve deeper into this, I'm beginning to think makeup is addictive...

You are absolutely correct. Some contain aromatic solvents (Xylene, Toluene) and some ketones (Methyl Ethel Ketone) which have a lower molecular weight than water so you absorb them into your skin or nails, and they can also traverse the blood/brain barrier. Aromatic solvents produce a 'high' similar to sniffing glue. The aromatic solvents and ketones used in manufacturing crack (although not the active ingredient) can be found in cosmetics.

That's just creepy and wrong. Oh my

yes it is. and manufacturers know it so they hide the ingredients on the back sides of the labels so they 'comply' but unless you pull the label back you can't find the list. Slight correction, using these types of cosmetics is like sniffing spray paint, not glue. Spray paint has the exact chemicals used in such things as nail polish. Which is why I also believe women who use these products are more likely to suffer neurological disorders and will have to deal with fits of depression more often as they come off the aromatic 'high'. Sort of like a junkie cutting down or going cold turkey. It will also produce manic episodes.

That's some pretty heavy stuff. I for one am glad I am awake enough to use only natural, quality ingredients in all my household cleaning and beauty needs
