Lutein may counter cognitive aging

in #health7 years ago

Lutein which is a nutrient found in leafy greens may have a beneficial effect in slowing the rate of cognitive aging. This is important to know because the brain ages just like every other organ in the body but without a high functioning brain the rest of the body soon fails. This of course is not the only nootropic or anti-aging supplement, as there are many such as blueberry extract for instance which also is said to have a positive effect on the rate of brain aging.

Sounds like good stuff. I just had some blueberries, I think maybe I might eat some more 😊

Well i didn't know that i've never even heard of lutein before. Will have to start eating more leafy greens, thanks for sharing.

Lutein is also very important for eye health. You just can't go wrong eating leafy greens!

Good reminder to eat more greens. Thanks for the share.

I've also seen claims that Lutein can help slow age related macular degeneration.

Could there be a causative link between loss of eyesight and cognitive aging as well?
