Dr. Beat Richner, the famous and outstanding Swiss-born doctor credited with reviving the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospitals in Cambodia– which have treated millions of patients free of charge since 1992 – resigned from his over two-decade position of managing the hospitals due to a serious illness sends a shock wave to many Cambodian people.

   

More than 20 years ago, the Swiss Dr. Beat Richner was asked to reconstruct the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital in Phnom Penh city. He did and many years later he built more hospitals where 85% of all children in Cambodia are treated. Now there are 5 Kantha Bopha Children's Hospitals in Cambodia and everyday around 100 babies are born in his maternity.

• If there is one famous hospital in Cambodia where poor Cambodian people can depend on having their sick baby or small child treated, it's the Kunthea Bopha hospital, established and managed by Dr. Beat Richner.  
• Dr. Beat Richner has made his mark in Cambodia since the start of 1990 when he set up his Kantha Bopha foundation.

I can't imagine how Cambodian children's lives would be without Dr. Beat Richner. Somehow the number of Cambodian children's death would grow rapidly without the hospitals, the staff affords, and the structure of healthcare that Dr. Beat Richner has applied.
