French surgeons make history with double face transplant
French surgeons made history when they successfully transplanted double face for the first time. A patient whose face transplant failed after seven years got second face from another donor in an unprecedented operation that surgeons had doubted was feasible.

First ever transplant was also made in France almost 12 years ago and now French surgeons have again done this successfully by replacing one transplanted face with another. The receiving patient was kept on life support in an induced coma since November.
This success has revealed that re-transplantation is possible in the case of chronic rejection of a donor face. The patient whose age is in 40s lived almost 2 months without face and it's still too early to say if the second transplant, which took a day to perform, has been successful.
