BENEFITS OF EXERCISE

Physical exercise is an activity in which every human being engages in one form or the other during his/her lifetime. There are several types of exercises such as walking, jogging, running, weightlifting, press-ups e.t.c. The ball games - football, handball, netball, volleyball, baseball, basketball are common avenues for muscular activity. Even the constant moving up and down in the house by a busy housewife in the course of her domestic chores may all pass as a form of exercise. A lot of people tend to see exercise as a stressful physical activity and so they tend to "run" away from it instead of actively devoting some time to this revitalizing activity. Although the perfomance of physical exercise puts a lot of strain on the musculoskeletal system, it is very much advantageous in the sense that it tests the reserves of virtually all the systems of the body, keeping them active and also in check, making them prepared for whatever situation a person might find himself/herself. Thus, apart from the musculoskeletal system, the respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal, endocrine, nervous systems and even the skin are all involved during physical exercise.

WHY SHOULD YOU EXERCISE?
I'll be explaining some reasons why you should exercise.

(1) Exercise controls weight of an individual ; regular exercise help prevent excess weight gain I really help maintain weight loss. When one engage in physical activity, there's increased utilization of calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories are exhausted.

(2) Combats negative health conditions and diseases; Being active boosts high density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good" cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides that might otherwise impede blood circulation. This keeps the blood flowing smoothly which decreases risk of cardiovascular diseases.

(3) Exercise improves mood; Need to blow off some steam after a stressful day or event? A gym session or a 30-minute walk can be very helpful. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals such as dopamine that may leave you a happier and a Moreno relaxed individual. The benefits of regular exercise are so much that it is virtually impossible to list all here.
