Heart Rate Variability for Calm Centered Presence

in #health6 years ago (edited)

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is a measure of how the speed at which your heart is beating changes over a short period of time. High HRV is correlated with low stress and calm centered presence. In this video I demonstrate how I use a Bluetooth sensor to track my HRV and the practices that I use to optimize it.

Can this also help, if you have too high blood pressure ?
Recently I found out that I have 210 to 110 blood pressure and I need
to find a natural method to get the blood pressure down without drug pills... Any idea and what I should I eat or make more sports ?
Many thanks.
Regards, Stefan.

It's illegal for me to give medical advice (i.e. we don't have free speech in the US), but if I had high blood pressure I would definitely be doing HRV practice multiple times a day.

Here are some links from sources I personally trust on the topic of hypertension:

I also have not heard the tool, maybe because my place people have never used this tool.
according to my stable heartbeat should check in when the body is relaxed, and not a benchmark after the sport, because the beat is not stable.

That makes sense to check in on these things long after exercise for more reliable measurements. Though now I'm curious how my HRV changes right after high activity. Maybe I'll try it after I go swimming.

The Heart is such a magical organ... much more exists than we have even scratched the surface of. Its exciting to see some of the technology coming out and/or thats been around just not accessible to the general public. Thanks for the video, I had not seen this done with a sensor like this. Super practical! Great for meditation practice.

I agree, there is much more to the heart than we imagine. A lot that's happening in my life keeps pointing me there.

Somehow I had not heard of HRV until your post. I was hoping my Apple Watch could track it, but it seems that as of this date, Apple only reports average variability (SDNN: the standard deviation between beats). They don't even let third party developers access the underlying raw data.

When I learned about HRV about a year ago I was similarly surprised that I had never heard of it. Perhaps it is newer knowledge of maybe it just never caught on.

I'm not totally sure, but SDNN has shown up in some older HRV apps I've used, so it might be enough information to go on.

By the way, how did you manage to get so many upvotes on some posts, that give you over 50 US$ and some posts only give you cents ?
Do you use now an upvote bot or how do you get now really good money on some posts ?? Or is this just depending on the used Tags and niches you post in ? Or do you have now soo many new subscribers ? Where can one see, how many subscribers someone has ? Many thanks...

DTube sometimes votes on my videos which grants between $70-80. That increases visibility by showing up in Hot and Trending which increases votes. I also invest extra SBD I have lying around into SmartSteem for some posts.

I picked up 100ish followers over the last two days, and I'm not sure how. I suspect a bot is responsible based on the names. You can track anyone's followers here:

Many thanks for the info. Did you yet try out Delegation of your SteemPower to somebody like Smartsteem or Minnowbooster ? They then pay out to you....as you probably have not enough time to vote all the time...

I've considered it, but decided I wanted to remain in full control of my votes. I actually have to be careful not to vote too much because I have a tendency to drain my power.

Hi Cahlen, what do you think is the best way to make money on Steemit ?

Through Commenting and Resteeming or to write new content ? What do you think is working better ?
What did work for you so far the best way ?
As you probably don´t have so much time to sit all day in fron of your smarthone and write articles
you probably make more money with videos, right ?
What about Resteeming ? what is the best method to get the most money from Resteeming ?
is that, when a posting already has a high $ value and only very few people have resteemed it ?
How much percentage will you get from the resteeming when an article has already a 20 US$ value
and I am resteeming it as the third person say 40 minutes after it was published and my vote for it gave it 3 cents ?
How much money will I get from it then through the Resteeming process ?

Are you going to upload also to DLive your videoS additionally to DTube ?

I think the best way to make Steem right now is through Utopian. Just find some open source software on GitHub and find bugs, report them in the Issues section of the Repository and then write a Utopian post describing it. If I'm focused I can find and write 5 bugs in 1-2 hours, and they can make anywhere between $10 and $50 each.

If you're going the content creation route, I'd say writing posts with lots of pictures in them is the way to go. It seems to be what people on Steem like. Videos are time consuming to curate, so most of the money comes from random DTube votes, which you can't count on.

Commenting is a good way to get more followers, which is a longer term strategy to boost your overall income for all your posts. I don't think Resteeming grants the Resteemer any benefit at all except that you'll make a little more as a curator because more people see the post after you've Upvoted it.

I currently still use DTube because it really is decentralized, while DLive is not. I may switch in the future because I feel like DTube failed us when it comes to longterm video storage, but I won't use both at the same time unless it becomes possible to not display both versions on my Steem feed. I don't like having redundant posts.

Thanks for the Utopian trick and the other insights...
Still a lot to learn for me here on Steemit....

I think something must have been changed on Steemit with the Resteeming curating income...
I remember having read that the first few resteemers, that have shared a post will get the majority of the 25 % curators fees...but it seems
this does not happen anymore...
I have the last days spent resteeming hot topic posts, that had about 10 to 20 US$ already made or more and only had 2, 3 or up to 5 Reesteems on them and I almost got nothing back...
Your current rewards: 0.001 SP
was said today in my wallet...
So as my voting power in this moment is only 5 to 3 cents now...
how is the resteeming ( Curation) awards being calculated actually ??

Has this been changed in the last few weeks ?
Does anybody know..
Many thanks for your answers..

It's possible that Resteeming granted curation benefits at one time, but I don't think they have for awhile. I'm also interested to know if someone knows it to be otherwise.

I wonder why they used a bluetooth transmitter to get the data into your phone and not just an USB plug ?
In the Iphone version they just have a lightning connector...
So in the Android version you are always radiated with the Bluetooth radiation... Probably not too good for your heart... hmm..

An older version of the devices was wired instead of Bluetooth. I actually prefer the wireless by far because it's easier to move around or position myself somewhere without worrying about where the phone is.

The Bluetooth on this device is very low power. I tend to worry about microwave radiation as well, but have come to the conclusion that Bluetooth at this strength is probably not harmful especially when not used all day.
