Eating healthy meals is one of the cornerstones of a fuller healthier life, however very few people think of health food without cringing.

Herbs and spice are a great addition to meals, adding flavour and color, more than that it can also boost your health, here are some herbs that you can add to your meals to help you improve your healthy life.

Cilantro

Cilantro is a great source of iron, magnesium, phytonutrients and flavonoids it is also very high in dietary fiber.
This nutrient rich herb has been used for thousands of years to aid with digestion and appetite as it stimulates gastric juice secretion.
It has hypoglycemic properties thus it helps with lowering blood sugar having . This is a possible result of stimulating insulin secretion.

Cardamom

Known as the “Queen of Spices,”
Ingested Cardamom helps our bodies with indigestion, nausea, vomiting can help to cut back excessive phlegm.
It is also used to prevent stomach pain and flatulence.
Cardamom is also used to sweeten the breath and reduce the effects that the high acidity of caffiene and coffee has.
Preliminary studies have come to show that this spice has cancer fighting effects against non-melanoma skin cancer.

Allspice

Allspice contains the active ingredient eugenol that can also be found in cloves, eugenol has local anesthetic and antiseptic properties.
It has also been found to have anti-inflammatory, rubefacient (warmth and soothing) and carminative properties.
It is also a carrier of caryophyllene, methyl eugenol, glycosides, tannins, quercetin, resin, and sesquiterpenes.
Also contains a good amount of minerals like potassium, manganese, iron, copper, selenium, and magnesium.
Iron is a neccesary compnent for healthy cellular metabolism and also required for red blood cell production in the bone marrow. Potassium helps regulate blood pressure and heartrate
Further it also carries loads of vitamin A, vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine), riboflavin, niacin, and vitamin-C.

Anise

I great aid to calm lousy coughs
It also aids memory as well as digestion.

Cumin

Cumin is packed full of phytochemicals and is high in antioxidants as well as minerals like iron, copper, calcium, potassium, manganese, selenium, zinc and magnesium and B-complex.
Cumin is a great help to the digestive and gastronomical tract.
It helps the body fight against sleeplessness and is alo great to use when you feel a cold coming on due to it’s antiseptic properties.

As drugs fade from popular demand... or should I say shunned, people will turn back to Ayurvedic ways.

I love seeing the transition! I doubt that modern medicine will ever be completely cut out however. Thank you for the comment.
