Have you seen the burning process of garbage ?

Of course, people have often seen the smoke that soared from burning waste. Whether it's in the neighborhood of residents or in the yard of the house. Rubbish can be anything, from plastic, household waste, or wood. Easy and fast. In addition, people also think burns can be used as natural fertilizer.

However, burning garbage is not trivial. Although many people choose this step, the way it is actually not the right thing at all. Not only producing smog that can reduce visibility and comfort, burning waste also has a very bad impact on the environment and health.

Carbon Monoxide (CO)

The carbon monoxide (CO) gas generated from the process is one of the very bad ones. Why is this gas dangerous? Because, carbon monoxide can kill people en masse. The gas will bind very strongly with blood hemoglobin that should transport and circulate oxygen throughout the body. As a result, the course of hemoglobin will be disrupted then the body will be deprived of oxygen and lead to death.

A variety of plastic waste that is burned can free the chemical compounds of dioxin and chlorine. All of these toxic compounds have a high enough potential to cause cancer. Dioxin itself is continuous and biologically accumulates. In addition, phosgene, a poisonous gas once used as a killer weapon during World War 1, can also be produced.

As for chlorine-containing waste, 75 other types of toxic substances can be created. So also with corrosive HCL, hydrocarbons, and benzopirena, even burning waste has benzopirena 350 times greater than cigarette smoke. Synthetic materials containing nitrogen, such as nylon or polyurethane foams, can produce other harmful compounds. When burned to temperatures above 600 degrees Celsius, this material can release toxic HCN gas. Conversely, if less than that temperature, the compound is an isocyanate.

The smoke from wood burning can be dangerous due to formaldehyde. Melamine goods can also produce these compounds if burned with a lot of oxygen supply and if less, HCN gas is the one that will be born. There are many other toxins that may be generated by waste disposal, even small dust particles called particulate matter (PM) to reach a level of 10 microns (PM10) one of them. With such a level, the human respirator is unable to filter the particles so they can enter the lungs and cause respiratory problems.

All these toxins will be dispersed into the atmosphere and then inhaled continuously by all living things. Not only that, the poison will also settle in the soil and eventually can enter the food chain. The impact may not be immediately apparent, but the various toxic substances may have already begun to affect the body that eventually leads to an illness. So should we deal with waste in ways that endanger the survival of ourselves and future generations?

wonderful photography~~~ @blackkim

thanks @xuanvo1 i followed you

Hi @blackkim thank you for your post. I am living in north Thailand for a long time now and living in the country side too. I always been surprised to see farmers burning everything from plastic to things they can use to make fertilizer. I believe the lack of education about the environment was the problem. Today things here get much better. The King in the past few years had made some program to educate people both in town and country side. Now in almost every part of the country we have some recycles companies who pay for buying your plastic, metal, and papers and the program had taught people on how to do fertilizer from organic garbage. So today I see most of the people are collecting their garbage and sell it to the recycling company. This is a good thing. Thailand is a nice country and they really handle their problem the right way with enough investment to make it work fast.

i think thailan is the one of more cretive country in the world

Probably the dumbest way of getting rid of waste.
