Then it all happened, 3 min go by, and I don't see my client. I tell the cashier I am going to go look for him, and as I get outside I see two men around him. I ask whats up and they say he went down, I looked at him, and he was pale and slurring his words. I said " Larry you okay" and got a crazy response. I immediately called 911 and was put on hold. 5 Min later a firetruck showed up and they started to work on him. He gave me his keys to get his truck home, and the Fire fighter started to question me on who I was, it was not until later I realized he thought I was trying to rob him or something. My dad turned around, and we dropped his truck off at the house, and told his wife where he was. Will check tomorrow on him, and see how he is doing. This has made me realize I need to take a first aid class or something of that nature. I had no Idea what to do.

all my upvote for ur hard work and sounds like a good time to take a vacation, cheers!
Your friend is old already he need First Class type of rest. He needs rest both psychologically, emotionally and even socially. I wish your a great restoration in his health.
Agreed, first aid and CPR are things everyone should know. A friend of mine is 36 years old, runs marathons, is in incredible shape. At work one day last October, he had a massive heart attack and stopped breathing. Thankfully, two of his co-workers knew CPR and resuscitated him before the paramedics arrived. He would not be here today without those co-workers. It was a scary reminder of how unqualified most people are for situations like this, but thankfully that wasn't the case for my friend who's fully mended and recovered now!
I wish they would teach useful stuff like this in school!
No, they want to teach you how to pay for the government, and get into massive debt for the rest of your life. I do agree, every high school should have a first aid required. Why, you better prepare society, and society will benefit.
Life is strange !!!! Anything can happen anytime.
When I was a kid I used to think that everything will happen as I want it to be.
Now I feel like anything or anybody can pop up into my life and I will have to deal with it.
I hope he is fine.
totally agree.
Holy crap!! That is a crazy experience. I know we never know when something like that might happen in life and we often hear about stories but think that it could never happen to us. I hope that he will be ok! I can’t say that I have ever had an experience like this in my life. As a teacher I have my first aid but I have never had to use it and I pray that I don’t. The thought of having to be the person responsible in that life saving moment is one that scares the you know what out of me. It sounds like you did the most important things @bigram.. stay calm, contact 911 and help wherever possible. Not at all easy things to do when in such a stressful situation.. sounds like you are ready for that baby to arrive!! 😉
Oh wow, that sounds really scary! I agree that First Aid and CPR wouldn't be a bad idea to learn. You never know when those life-saving skills may come in handy.
I think in reality that each person should have a little knowledge of first aid since in everyday life it can happen to any person and even at home, of course we hope that this is never the case.
but good or bad is a very good idea of your luck part if you are inclined to study first aid and I particularly support you, and you really give a lesson to learn that we are not prepared for everything that can happen to us in the way of life ..
thanks for telling your story
When I wrote it, I had just got home and was still all jacked up on adrenaline, I did not proof read it, I feel i was probably a choppy read.
Actually your recount was fine and I understand how you felt. It's pretty freaky. Taking the First Aid course would be helpful in letting you know not just what you should do but also when you shouldn't do anything, which is just as important. It sounds like your customer maybe had a stroke. I hope he isn't too badly hurt.
Wow, it is quite traumatic witnessing a friend nearly lose their life.
CPR is a simple skill to learn and I believe should be taught at schools so anybody can help if ever required.
Just a thought but somtimes we witness these events as a reminder to look after our own health and not to take life for granted.
Thanks for sharing :)
please keep doing the best for people what you been doing no matter what people(the fire guy) think about you. I hope the 75 years old guy is ok. Thanks for sharing.
Scary stuff.. I pray he is good when you check on him tomorrow!
