Reflecting back on the path traveled in 2016 - Resolving Pain

in #health8 years ago

Most people have tripped over or fallen off something or been involved in an accident but what happens when the doctors do scan after scan and can't find what is wrong with you, you can feel the pain but your told by the doctor to suck it up and deal with it because other people suffer worse pain than you!   Or even worse your subscribed drugs!

Everyone deals with pain differently and has a different experience with it, depending on a few things there may be a few out of the box options, which isn't everyone's cup of tea!Leg pain in a child or teenager that has had scans and everything has been given the all clear and everything ruled out and still suffering from pain or have been told growing pains - could possible be tightened muscles? If we trip or fall even if we do or don't break our bones we can hurt our muscles which then tighten.

If it is tightened muscles you can go to a Physio - another option is going to a Physio that also does Dry Needling or cupping.

You can massage out tight muscles which can be really painful the other option if in the legs, lower back and shoulders - only certain places you can  Dry Needle - I'm not a Physio just had Dry Needling to deal with pain which has helped - but it may not be for everyone as you may not want to stick a needle into your muscle.

Tighten muscle pain just doesn't go away, it can come and go but will get worse. It would be a better use of resources if a Physio was the first point of call for accidents in legs and arms if not too serious - (Just my option and I have no medical back ground) why because a good well trained Physio can see if it's broken bone or strained muscle, or muscle pulled by listening to what happened, seeing it and lightly touching, if they are unsure they will ask for a scan.
This would stop a lot of unnecessary scans, plus Doctor wait times, the amount of people you have to go thru to see and length of time people are in pain and resolve the issue quickly and can get on the road to recovery.

Here's Three Youtube videos That maybe helpful in explaining Dry Needling - (I don't know these people just found their videos and thought they explained it well.)

What is Dry Needling Here!
Dry Needling by a Physical Therapist Here!
Dusty Hanshaw: Cupping & Dry Needling Therapy Here!

There seems to be different types of dry needling - using multiple needles and leaving them in, fire heating the needles, I've only tried the one with one needle going in like in the above videos, I've seen cupping done, and with most things there is a risk of infection if not done right.

The benefits of Dry Needling I found were it got rid of the pain straight away, as my calf muscles were really tight the twitches were really big and some had shooting pain exiting at the toes, I found the first session not too bad with pain afterwards it was the second session were I was in pain for about two days after, but after that the pain was less, and recondition the muscles was hip flexes leg stretches and calf exercises and was told yoga or Pilates to slowly get the muscles back into shape.

Dry needling can also be done on scars in certain places, to lighten them.As everyone has a different fitness level and maybe less prone to pulling muscles than others that when you get the all clear to go back into exercise that it is gradually.

Other great exercise that doesn't have much weight on the joints is water walking, there are other ways also you can exercise in the water with water aerobics, etc...

For myself I've learnt regulatory stretching, even if it's 10 mins a day or a few days a week helps to keep my muscles and pain in check and not over doing it, it's better to enjoy it than make it feel like a chore other wise you wont do it.

Also drinking enough water and eating, there are also a lot of different foods and herbs and spices that also help with pain.Have you heard the saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away - I don't know if it keeps the Dr away, but I've tried Apple Cider Vinegar and that helps with stomach aches - 1 teaspoon diluted in a glass of water, helps also with squeezed nerves and the shaking that is caused from it, and also turmeric there is so many other natural growing things to relive pain.Heated wheat bags are also nice to use when you are sore and need heat, also Organic balms containing Organic Hemp seed oil are great to rub on swollen areas, and sore muscles.

Sometimes we need a pick me up to stay on track for eating right, but also being motivate, sometimes we can get down, a great way to curb cravings, help and uplift motivation it Organic Clod Pressed Coconut Oil - a teaspoon every morning either from the teaspoon or in a hot drink or a smoothie - added bonus helps with mood swings - our ups and lows and normalizes our moods.
