Is CBD overblown? Maybe so, but not for reasons you may think!

in #health6 years ago

If you haven't been living under a rock you probably see CBD becoming the next "hot" thing for almost every disease and problem under the sun. Touted as the next best thing since sliced bread for health, is it possible it is just a little over blown?

Cannabis has potentially THOUSANDS of chemicals our bodies can benefit from. THC may get you high but it has been proven effective for many things like stress relief and creative thinking as well as help people with lack of appetite and depression. Suicide has been shown to be GREATLY reduced and PTSD using Cannabis. I personally believe extracting just 1 of the many chemicals in these plants is okay but consuming the entire thing is really how it was meant to be. There are so many chemicals you could potentially isolate but why bother? CBD strains contain lots of other things in addition to THC strains containing many things we don't even know about yet. IMO although I am a supporter of CBD, I think it is over hyped and just 1 of the 1000s of reasons the ENTIRE plant needs to be 100% legalized with ZERO government licensing and control/oversight!

What are your thoughts? I am in no way against extractions, and am pro CBD, but my point is that the WHOLE plant has many other things we need to be using as well. So while a CBD extract may help, I believe the entire plant could be cheaper and even better! Animals used to consume wild cannabis/hemp and we then ate them. Humans also consumed directly and ate the seeds. My fear is that big pharma just wants to own the industry and government wants to protect their interests and tax us for something that should be well a WEED and not very difficult to grow at home.

Sort:

First to become aware of drugs in general, second to educate about Cannabis in my country, third to legalize it, fourth that both the government and the general public always sow without any problem, the pharmaceutical companies can be an advantage, but as in the world everything is a business, it is possible that they appeal only for their interests and charge us.

Currently I try to follow the rhythm of life as if I smoke, live relaxed, carefree, try to feel THC without using it, I am very sensitive to drugs so that's why I avoid them.

I don't consider cannabis a drug, I consider it a miracle plant that drug companies and prison systems wanted to remove from our daily lives. We call it "Weed" because it literally grew wild almost everywhere before we started this "War on 'Drugs'" bullshit!

I tasted it, I was in a temporary state in my 5 numb senses, at least what they sell here is very strong they call it creep, it has a lot of THC, a war I wouldn't know how to tell you, you know more about the subject, here is a taboo.

As you can see there are MANY types of cannabis and Hemp is just one of them as is indica and sativa. They removed it from society all together and told us it is a drug when it can be used to make paper, plastics, rubbers, fuel, food, clothing, natural medicine, and many other great things. THC is just 1 of the chemicals and has many good things too. That is the point of my post. That they now control the plant so they legalize CBD extracts but only a few corporations get licenses to grow and manufacture it while taxing it like crazy! It is all just a way to control a natural thing that has so many great benefits for us all!
