WHAT IS ARTERIOSCLEROSIS?
This is the hardening of the arteries ,making it to loose it's elasticity. Arteries are the blood vessels that carries oxygenated blood and nutrients from your heart to the rest of your body.

As you age, fat and cholesterol can accumulate in your arteries and form plaque,makeing it difficult for blood flow through your arteries to the target organ(s).Plague may occur in any artery in your body and can result in depriving the arteries of its natural function,transfer of blood and oxygen to various tissues of your body. Pieces of plaque can also break off, causing a blood clot. Atherosclerosis has a disastrous negative impact such as cardiac arrest,all forms of stroke,if left untreated.

** WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF ARTERIOSCLEROSIS?**

  1. Fat: Consciously select the type of food you eat . Particularly, foods with high fat content. Fat are of different types with different benefits and health risks,so be conscious.

  2. Cholesterol:It is a waxy, yellow substance that’s found naturally in your body and also in certain foods you consume day in day out. If too much, may cause plague in your arteries and the effect ensues.

  3. Aging: As you age, your heart and blood vessels work harder to pump and receive blood. Also, the old ones are more susceptible to the fairly common problem,arteriosclerosis. What you eat when you are younger determines your fate when you age, that's the secret.
