SUGAR IS THE ENEMY OF YOUR HEALTH PURGE IT!

in #health7 years ago (edited)

Hi my name is Austin I want to share a short little story with everyone looking to improve thier overall health & how I lost over 50 pounds. Have you ever tried to cut back on unhealthy foods to loose weight? If you're like me this is very common so what do you do? You go to the grocery store looking for granola bars, yogurt, or anything sugar free. The problem here is it's hiding in the majority of foods. Most people dont know that there are 61 names for sugar yes 61!

See when you try to go healthy you try to get "diet" foods however they are stacked in sugars even though they say sugar free. Many companys try to hide this fact because if you knew would you want to buy their product? Of course not! They hide this by using names such as Dextrose, Muscovado, and even Fructose. They profit on making people sick in the long run.
Having to much of these empty calories has many health effects, the most obvious being weight gain.

Cutting out sugar can be very difficult however it can potentially save your life!

Benifits from cutting out sugar

  1. IT CAN LOWER YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE & CHOLESTEROL
Obesity is a major risk factor in high blood pressure. Research shows that having HBP can make your heart work in overdrive.
Not to mention all the work its already doing if you have bad cholesterol. Both these combined is a path to heart disease.
Cholesterol can cause clogged arteries and blood vessels.

  2. IT KEEPS YOUR BRAIN SHARP
You may have been warned that sweets can eat away at teeth enamel, but what’s even scarier is that sugar can eat away at your brain power too.
Eating unnecessary sugars can reduce proteins that are neccessary for memory and responsiveness.

  3. YOU'LL BE LESS LIKELY TO HAVE DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER'S
A diet high in added sugar reduces the production of a chemical known as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which helps the brain form new memories and remember the past. Levels of BDNF are particularly low in people with an impaired glucose metabolism (diabetics and pre-diabetics) and low BDNF has been linked to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

  4. LOWER RISKS OF GETTING DIABETES
Just drinking one or two (or more) sugary drinks a day can increase your risk od getting diabetes by 26%.

  5. KEEPS YOUR SKIN LOOKING YOUNG & CLEAR (My Favorite)
And now for the appeal to your vanity: A lifetime of eating too much added sugar can make skin dull and wrinkled. This is due to a process called glycation, where the sugar in your bloodstream attaches to proteins to form advanced glycation end products (AGEs— an appropriate name for what they do!). AGEs damage collagen and elastin, the protein fibers that keep skin firm and elastic, and that damage leads to skin wrinkles and sagging. They also deactivate your body’s natural antioxidant enzymes, leaving you more vulnerable to sun damage. “In this case, you truly are what you eat—it shows on your skin,” Long Gillespie says. Sugary foods with a high glycemic index have been found to have an effect on the severity of acne because of the hormonal fluctuations they trigger. “Inflammation caused by excess sugar intake has been linked to other skin conditions as well, like psoriasis,” says Marisa Moore, R.D., an adjunct professor at Georgia State University.
