RE: Why You Should Throw Your Toxic Deodorant In The Trash

in #health6 years ago

I am a real health nerd and one thing I learned early on is that, as you rightly say, anything we put on our skin can get into our blood stream very quickly.

As it's not really as obvious as inhaling something that you instinctively know is bad for you I think it is something that not many people really think about.

The same goes for sun tan lotion, shampoo, hair spray, household cleaning products, etc.

I use a very simple recipe for my deodorant that I have used for years and it works amazingly well:

50% raw, organic coconut oil & 50% organic baking soda

Melt the coconut oil just enough to be able to stir in the baking soda and then mix.

Than let it cool. That's it!

I pour mine into silicone cake cases because I haven't got round to finding a suitable vessel like you have! :-)

I didn't realise that baking soda could have aluminium in it though so thank you for pointing that out!

I completely agree! It's not really something we were taught to think about so many do not know. I think the is a change in the market happening but it's important for us to read labels...because even the "good" guys seem to be slipping things in lately! Thank you for sharing your recipe as well.

I know I was actually taught in school that most things cannot absorb through your skin they way we know now that they do! They actually said things can't, and doctors tend to back this up. Like they say magnesium cannot absorb through the skin, but anyone who had tried it knows it does... and at a faster rate than if you ingest it too! They serieously lied to us. At least here they did!
