A Note About Ingredients
The #1 ingredient in this healthy drink recipe is water. Therefore, it's important to use the best quality water you can get your hands on. I use Miraculewater.Lemons are very healthy. I remember using lemon juice to clean flat top grills at a restaurant I worked at. Lemons are very cleansing. Try to find new ways to eat/drink more lemons, such as in healthy drinks like this one.
Yerbe mate is a good source of caffeine. It has other nutrients in it too, such as antioxidants.
Sweeten the drink with your choice of sweetener(s). The sweetener you choose is important. I often use several sweeteners so I'm not getting a high dose of any single one. However, some people consider stevia and xylitol to be unhealthy, so I try to use them sparingly. Nevertheless, by using multiple sweeteners, instead of just using sugar, you get a sweet-tasting drink without having a high sugar intake. But if you add too much xylitol you may get an upset stomach or diarrhea, and if you add too much stevia the drink can taste off. So using a little of each is a nice trick to get the best of both worlds.
This sounds delicious @arevolution and is a perfect winter time drink. The best part now is that I already have all the ingredients ready to go.
I will most likely however use honey as my sweetner. It is a healthy choice but beside that fact, we have a beekeeper that brings 150 hives to our farm in the mountains for the warm seasons. He pays us in fresh raw honey, enough to keep us supplied until next season.
It is a SUPER barter deal!
