Australian gastroenterologist Vincent Ho, who works at the University of Western Sydney, spoke about the new harm that the human body produces alcoholic beverages. The researcher notes that consuming them in large quantities destroys the cells of the stomach, reports Science Alert.

According to the results of the study, in which 47 volunteers participated, drinks with a high alcohol content cause damage to the walls of the stomach and small bleeding.

In this case, red wine has a bactericidal effect due, in part, to its acidity and alcohol concentration. As for drinks with a share of alcohol of 60-80 percent, they are able to kill bacteria in the mouth in one minute.

In this case, the restoration of tissues from the consumption of beverages with a 10-percent alcohol content takes 24 hours. And chronic alcohol consumption contributes to the appearance of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
