Why Bodybuilding can be Dangerous To Some Extent: Ruptured Muscles

in #health8 years ago

Going to gym almost everyday and lifting weights in there is one of the most addicting habits of most aspiring Body Builders. Not only because they wanted to become strong but also they want to attain the kind of muscle that they can flaunt it to others. Men are known to be tough and have this male ego that they usually flaunt to represent strength and dominance.

However, caution must be made by these body builders when increasing the amount of weights in conjunction with using steroids to build a large muscle. Lifting weights more than half of their body weight can cause serious problems on their health and appearance. And these problems can be worsened if they are also using steroids abusively (Gerard, n. d.).

The following pictures will probably shock you how body building can be dangerous to some extent.

These how ruptured muscles look like due to excessive steroids and too much weights.

At first, these men seemed quite used to with the level of weights that they were using but as the time goes by they would realize, they were not contented. So they tend to overuse their muscles with the weights and consuming steroids.

Instead of making their look strong and healthy, they are putting their lives at stake prone to further injury . The advantage of steroids among body builders include the increasing size of the muscles but what these don't know is that steroids can be detrimental to their health. Too much steroids can cause irreversible liver damage and cancers. Furthermore steroids can cause irreversible kidney damage because it can cause formation of kidney stones. Kidney stones will then block the blood vessels of the kidneys which affects urinary excretion . High blood pressure will arise due to the formation of lesions of the urinary tract caused by kidney stones (Lawrenson, 2008).
