When Arrhythmia Is Dangerous

in #health7 years ago (edited)

Arrhythmia (irregular heart beat) can be one of the first alarm rings that beep “Attention! Something is wrong with your heart!” It mustn’t be ignored in any case, as unfortunately many people do, because the proper work of the heart is a matter of life in death in the direct meaning. But not all the arrhythmias are that dangerous, only some of them require immediate doctor’s consultation.

Sporadic violations of usual rhythm of heartbeat are quite common and many people feel them from time to time. The heartbeat can be too fast, too slow, or vary from first to second. In most cases it doesn’t mean harm for the heart, but you should be careful if it goes along with such symptoms:

  1. Feeling of the strong heartbeat and violent shattering of heart’s rhythm

  2. Too fast heartbeat

  3. To slow heartbeat, as if something interferes with it

  4. Pains in chest

  5. Feeling hard to breathe

  6. Feeling of dizziness

  7. Loss of consciousness or the state close to it.

If you feel one of such symptoms, you must go to doctor as soon as you can. What are the reasons that can cause arrhythmia (any sort of it)? Among heart diseases, it can be caused by diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, smoking, frequent consummation of alcohol and caffeine, some medicine or overdose, and, of course, stresses.

There are certain risk factors of arrhythmia development. These are:

  • Genetics. Inborn heart defects and even some sorts of arrhythmia as an independent syndrome can be taken after your relatives.

  • Thyroid gland diseases. Hormonal imbalance also influences the heart.

  • High blood pressure is a risk factor for ischemia or ventricle deformation.

  • Diabetes mellitus can also cause ischemia and arterial hypertension.

  • Change of electrolyte level in blood that influence hearts electric activity.

  • Stimulators like caffeine, nicotine or drugs.

Arrhythmia if ignored can become a problem developing into complications like apoplexy, when wrong heart work doesn’t provide proper blood circulation and it creates clots, or heart failure, when there’s lack of effective activity. By controlling heart rhythm, the problem can be solved. Visit your cardiologist for appointment of heart arrhythmia treatment and it surely won’t get worse.
