Homeopathy to Stop Being Offered on the NHS

in #health7 years ago (edited)

It's the end of an era. Homeopathy has been available on the NHS since it's creation way back in 1948. There were 5 homeopathic hospitals doted around the country that doctors could refer patients to for homeopathic treatment. G.Ps (general practitioners) could also prescribe homeopathic remedies to their patients.

Now the NHS, as part of a cost cutting exercise, is removing homeopathy from it's range of treatments. It's a sad day for the NHS.
Homeopathy will go on thriving of course, it's an effective medical system.

This has been caused by two things in my opinion:

  • The utter incompetence of the various homeopathic organisations who have consistently failed to support, or make a case for, homeopathy.
  • The ongoing anti-homeopathy campaign that has been waged by ideologues trying to elevate science to some sort of religion, and funded by big-pharma.

My response: We homeopaths need to expand. The NHS is going to slowly wither & die over the next few decades, WE need to be there offering an alternative - safe & effective medicine without side effects. Maybe it's time to crowd-fund a homeopathic treatment centre in this city to act as a centre of excellence.

Sort:

Science and religion...

You know why they're incompetent? It's because there is not one tiny shred of evidence to support it. Double blind trials have absolutely failed in every single attempt. That's not an anti-campaign. That's the truth. Now go sniff some tea-tea and think about why there is zero evidence of effeciacy.

You sir are clearly an ideologue. I see it working everyday in amazing ways. There is a TON of evidence, but it doesn't fit the 'scientism' narrative being promoted by big-pharma.

I find it simply incredible that they've successfully spread the 'homeopathy is just placebo' lie.

The truth will out.

And you don't see the problem here?

James Randi? He's a predatory paedophile...excuse me if I don't take his morality or opinions seriously. He also backed out (citing ill-health) of Professor Vitholkas' attempt to win the $1 Million for proving the efficacy of homeopathy when it was obvious that Vithoulkas would win.

Two independant scientific studies show that there is no evidence to support homeopothy, One in Austrailia, one in the UK.

But it's the science that's wrong
