Holy basil plant is a traditional plant originated about 3000 years ago in Asia. People believed that each and every part of the plant could be used in healing processes, which is why people live in countries like India grow a Tulsi plant in their backyard. This therapeutic plant has amazing qualities, and many consume few leaves every day or use it in tea. I am sharing few benefits of consuming this leaves.

Stress is a common thing for all of us. Tulsi not only has positive effects relating to the body but also has positive benefits for mental health. To calm your mood, have a cup of tea included with Tulsi leaves. Vitamin C and other antioxidants in Holy Basil, apart from repairing damages done by free radicals, also minimize the stress caused by these oxidants. They soothe the nerves, lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and thus reduce stress. Potassium, in Tulsi, also reduces blood pressure-related stress by replacing sodium and loosening the tensed blood vessels.

It is believed that the holy basil leaves could kill bacteria and infections, which is why some people use this as a home remedy to fight against acne. Moreover, it is suspected that it treats skin infections both internally and externally. So, it is the natural medicine to cure acne.
