Depression - Why would you get it if you have a high IQ?

                             

Now, why wouldn’t someone with high IQ be depressed?Just having an high IQ has its cons as well; it looks like a bicycle ride but in fact, it is more like a rollercoaster ride.There are a number of reasons for why people with a high IQ would be depressed :

1. Where the majority of the population does not have high IQ, a person who has a high IQ might feel different or left out from most of the people.
2. Since that person feels left out and has practically no social life, he/she is isolated and alone.
3. When we are alone, we tend to overthink and overthinking is the cause of all of our problems.
4. Music does not make sense to them. (I’m talking about people who have very high IQs like 160+). It’s not that EVERY person is like this but then this is the case with many people.
5. Because of isolation, they get into drugs, become an alcoholic or both.
6. People with high IQs see the reality rather than lying to themselves about the truth or ignoring reality. So, they have a hard time ignoring reality which makes them unhappy.
7. They usually have low EQ which makes them weak at socialising and being empathetic since empathy is required for maintaining a stable relationship.

This doesn’t mean EVERY person who has a high IQ should be depressed. I’m just saying that people with High IQs are more vulnerable to depression than people who don’t have a high IQ.
