How to Start Learning Hand Stands

If you have ever seen people balancing on their hands and thought that looks like FUN. You might not know where to start. Well, you have came to the right place!
Today I had the pleasure to train hand stands with Jonathan Weztz. Jonathan is a hand balancer and is passionate about body movement exercise.

I asked him to share 3 tips that you can practice to start getting into handstand. In the video we filmed you will learn some fundamentals that will help you start getting yourself upside down!

Hanging

Hanging from a bar is basically a hand stand upside down. Hanging will help you with alignment and also build up strength in your shoulders and arms. Proper alignment is one of the most important things for hand standing. When you do start holding a hand stand you want your body to be straight and all you bones stacked inline with each other.

Baby Kick Ups

These kick ups will help you support your weight in your hand with out having to go all the way upside down. This is a great exercise to build up the strength you need to hold yourself in a hand stand.

Somersault

Knowing how to somersault will help you get out of a fall. When practicing hand stands you are bond to fall eventually. Practicing these rolls on the ground will get you ready to fall out of a handstand safely.

Practice these 3 exercises. These are excellent fundamentals that will help you with your hand balancing practice.
