Abolitionist Abstractions Vlog 95: A walk in the woods never felt so good

Here is today's vlog! I've spent the past few days trying to come to grips with the news I received about Murder Dog on Wednesday. There were definitely a few more tears but overall I've been trying to stay positive. We spent a lot of time just hanging out in the back of the Element, watching movies, and just being together. We did get to see the kids, too, but we kept those visits short so that Murder Dog could get her rest. Since we had to deal with some more heavy rain again, that actually worked out for the best.

With all the rest that she has gotten, Murder Dog seems to be getting back to her old self. It's only been a little over a week since her surgery, and I just took her off the pain meds a day or two ago, but her energy level seems to be almost back to normal. So much so that we attempted our first real walk today, and it was a huge success! We ended up finding a park out on the east end of the Island in our early morning travels. What was going to be just a quick bathroom break for us both turned into a several mile walk through the woods. We'll see how she feels tonight and tomorrow but for now this is a good sign! It definitely made my day!
