Body modification is the delibrate alteration of the normal anatomy or appearance of the body. It is done for the aesthetics, sexual enhancement, traditional rites, tribal customs, religious beliefs etc.
Body modification can be as simple as piercing the ear lobes for earrings and can be as complicated as tattooing the eyes.
Believe me, you need to see these acts :( Some find it displeasing, while some see no harm in it.

A man is recently making a trend on the news as he flew from his home in Australia to Sweden to have the conch of his ear removed by a Swedish body modification artist.
The conch of the ear is the central area of the ear that guides into the middle ear. The part gets its name from the similarity it has in shape to a conch shell.
While receiving backlashes from social media users, the artist claimed the process would not lead to an inability to hear sounds. He said that while it may impair your ability to hear for a few days, your ability will go back to normal once your mind has adapted to this change. He also stated that this removal will improve hearing from behind. Like seriously? ***
Just so you know, medical professionals totally disagree with his opinion.
Extreme body modifications
There are lots of different body modification trending in this modern world. Some of the extreme and most dangerous ones I've seen include:
- Waist training by removing some of the ribs to achieve a tiny waist.
- Body piercing of delicate and sensitive areas such as the tongues, belly button and genital area.
- Tooth filling to make them pointed.
- Tongue splitting to make them fork-like.
- Eye tattooing
- Removing part of the nose
- Plastic surgeries
...and much more.
