What did Stephen Hawking believe in?

in #hawking6 years ago
Stephen Hawking known scientist, and died recently on March 14 this year, this Brit was extremely confident in science and technological advances although throughout his life he doubted his beliefs this because of his book "A Brief History of the Time "where he said that if" we came to discover a complete theory, it would be the definitive triumph of human reason, because then we would know the mind of God"

Already in 2010 in his book "The Great Design" I assure you that a new series of theories where God does not create the universe and that the Big Bang was inevitable according to the laws of Physics, and would say that:

Since there is a law like that of gravity, the Universe could and was created out of nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason that there is something instead of nothing, it is the reason why the Universe exists, that we exist. It is not necessary to invoke God as the one who lit the fuse and created the Universe.

In 2014 in an interview for the newspaper The World he clarified his position on religion and being clear in his atheism:

In the past, before we understood science, it was logical to believe that God created the Universe. But now science offers a more convincing explanation. What I meant when I said that we would know 'the mind of God' was that we would understand everything that God would be able to understand if it existed. But there is no God. I'm an atheist. Religion believes in miracles, but these are not compatible with science.

All this based on Darwinian theories and modern physics discarding God as creator of the universe and creator of living beings.

Are we alone in the universe?, Does the relationship between Science and Politics work well?, What does technology hold for us in the future?, Should scientists better explain their work to society ?, were several of the questions that were made to Stephen Hawking in various debates and throughout his history as a physicist, being saying that:

It does not take a Creator to start the Universe.

The same will always be remembered as a brilliant mind and one of the most recognized scientists of the XX and XXI Century, receiving several awards such as the Adams Award, Dirac Award, Albert Einstein Medal, among others...
