Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP) Lobbies Against Sex Trafficking Bills in Hawaii

There is a new lobbying group in Hawaii which is the local chapter of the Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP).

SWOP is lobbying against the Sex Trafficking bills running through the Legislature because they are lumping in prostitution in with sex trafficking. SWOP basically wants the bills to focus in on trafficking. Since SWOP is pro-prostitution they feel that the Bills do not apply to them because the want to be in the industry. SWOP feels that adding restrictions, and tracking, to the sex workers will force prostitution further under ground.

We believe Hawaii will never legalize prostitution. Hawaii is one of the States that is also against any form of gambling. Governor David Ige said he would also oppose the legalization of marijuana.
