Making a Fire for Our Dinner - Big Island Hawaii

We do a lot of our cooking on our grill when we make dinner. We used the wood we find from around our lot and the Ohia scraps we get when we do our woodworking. We go foraging for the wood and take the dead fall. The log you see in the middle is Ohia.

We normally use our cast iron skillet to fry up the protein.

We really enjoy cooking on our grill. There is something about it which is so relaxing and enjoyable.

Don't get me wrong I love to cook on the stove as well.

This is a great part of living off the grid.
