Driving by Kapiolani Park at the East end of Waikiki I saw these signs. Then I saw this...

These trees were totally uprooted and these weren't the only ones. These trees have been at the park since I can remember. According to Hawaii News Now, the trees are believed to be about 100 years old and they were toppled over by the gale force winds that happened over the weekend. Daniel K. Inouye Airport reported wind speeds of 48 mph and there were gusts of at least 55 mph. Fortunately no one was hurt.
