Schools out due to lava lakes 🔥

These guys are homeschoolers. On a Tuesday & Wednesday, they had the magical fortune of attending the Centre of Creativity Art School on Pohoiki rd. It’s a really special spot with one of the best Pacific views but it’s the love that we feel.. the love that’s been poured into every inch of the studio & land that radiates magic.
Three weeks ago (hard to believe it’s been only 3) the earth started to shake pretty hard, soon it began to crack and now, across the road from their school, is one of the biggest lava lakes this island has known. Six intensely active fissures are pumping lava hundreds of feet into the air before rushing down to meet the ocean. I still can’t believe what I’m witnessing and I’m not sure we could ever articulate how this experience feels 💔
The lessons are deep and also in the subtle adjustments we make. They are in the hugs we share more freely, in the eyes of new friends at the gas station and in our hearts as we see our community loosing homes & surrendering their dreams to reverence ~~ Tutu Pele 🔥 I am awed by your love
