Another big Hash meetup down in Pattaya

One of the great benefits of the Hash House Harriers as a global operation is that there are events going on all around the world all the time. There are 4 Hash chapters in Thailand and the one in Pattaya is likely the most active one. This is probably because of the proximity to Bangkok that makes it easier for people to visit them and also because Pattaya is a very popular destination for the kind of person, or at least the men, that would ever be in the Hash House Harriers anyway.

Recently we had a gathering down there and all of Chiang Mai Hashers were invited.

We fly down there to hang out with these guys whenever they have a special event and they always put on a good show. It is very different from Chiang Mai Hashing in that the terrain is less hilly and it tends to be much hotter.

It's still done in the jungle for the most part so it isn't really all that different.

The demographics of the Pattaya Hash is very similar to our own in that their membership is predominately male, and they tend to be over 55 years of age. Age is just a number though because everyone here, much like our own chapter, behaves as if they were all teenagers with a bit of money.

They had planned on a big turnout and prepared the ice accordingly. The bucket of ice is there for anyone brave enough that thinks they can actually stand back up after sitting in it... no other reason. You score points for having that sort of god-like mobility within the ranks of the Hash.

It was quite a joy to have this many people around for this event and we up here in Chiang Mai always look forward to them when we are invited.

it's been a while since we have had this sort of turnout at one of our own events but we look forward to hosting an inter-event like this for all of our brothers and sisters down in Pattaya, Bangkok, and Phuket to come and visit with us.

It was a great time and kudos to the Hash in Pattaya for putting on such a great event. A great time was had by all!
