News story:(Hardware) Intel Partnered Up With Chuwi To Release Kaby-Lake G Mini PC.

in #hardware6 years ago

Intel has recently partnered up with Chinese electronic brand Chuwi to release a mini-PC based off Kaby-Lake G semi-custom chipsets. There will be two variants released on the market. One is the i5 version with Radeon Vega M GL running at dual channel 8GB DDR4 RAM with a 128GB SSD. Other one is the i7 with Vega M GH running at dual channel 8GB DDR4 with a 256GB SSD. i5 variant will be sold at 1199 USD while the i7 will be sold at 1499 USD. Price is steep, but there's a discount for anyone signing up here before it launches in Indiegogo.

The form factor looks impressive, performance wise the Vega M GH outpaces the GTX 1060 Max-Q in most games and synthetic benchmarks. With decent cooling and higher threshold for power, both CPU and GPU could be pushed to the max to even beat 1600 USD laptops in general.

Product is slated to release in late May, this year. Hopefully this brand picks up the pace with HP and Dell whom have partnered up with Intel for Kaby-Lake G.
