Hardfork Series - Centralized Vs Decentralized

Even if this story is a way of promoting decentralization I think it would add more depth to the story if you treat both centralized and decentralized with both pros and cons. I am a fan of decentralization and I can see the huge benefits that is brings but like with any system there is pros and cons. The same for centralization. It might not be efficient as decentralization but it does have some benefits that decentralization does not. Treating them both fairly, even if you do give the nod to decentralisation helps to strengthen the story and the ideas behind it.

Centralization:

One of the benefits of centralization is it allows for a quicker decision making process. When you have a party in charge they can push ahead with decisions at their own leisure instead of waiting for a general consensus. It times of emergency this can have its benefits. You can have a scene where the ability to make decisions on the fly gives the centralized faction an advantage in an emergency scenario compared to one of the decentralized ones. There is also the accumulation of resources. Having one source with a big resource count leads to more powerful actions with bigger results.

Decentralization:

With decentralization you have a faster network that is, as we know, hack proof. You also have a lot of people invested in something instead of a few and this leads to more people working towards an outcome. When you have people who have ownership they will care more about the results and this can lead to more collaboration. With algorithms you can focus more on things like content than distribution. It is a more we society and you can work with the benefits that come from it. It is also more work for the people as they have to take more responsibility. Take cryptocurrency for example, you are your own bank means you are responsible for your funds. But that comes with the freedom to use them as you wish.
