HardFork Series - BOTS Models Completed

I have spent a lot of time this week working on this model to get it into a place where I'm happy with it and I'm happy with the results. I not only modeled the bots but also had to imagine how all of this works because that's just how my mind works.


I started from the bottom up creating this with a completely revamped base. I put the treads together and changed the design to give it a rising up feel.



I kept the cannon on the base and it has, in my opinion,
an awesome function which I'll get to shortly.


Next I concentrated on the turret. It has lost a small amount of my original functionality idealism but it works smarter for the AR cloaking as I see it being.



I have sunk the eyes into the turret so they lose some of their range.
There is a camera at the rear but the bot still has a 'blindspot' to
the left and right. Can you say exploitable weakness? The
Electro Magnetic Pulse Cannon is still in play as well as the
tasers mounted to the left and right.


I then added the two components together and VOILA! We have the new bot.

I added arms and the CFS text to the tread cover plate and the results are not too shabby.

The arms need some work. They were the last thing I added and I
wasn't really paying attention closely enough. I will be incorporating
the bot(s) into artwork and changing it slightly as I progress in that direction.


.......but wait, there's more....


In my mind the bots that are cloaked have to have a similar look to the menacing form. My thoughts are advanced hologram technology. This is about to get a bit lengthy, bear with me.
The Central Finance Service has infused itself into every facet of the culture. To the uninformed they seem to be a humanitarian and philanthropic organization that does good works toward a better future. Their bots are in play everywhere. From food service to education to health care. They use programmable hologram technology to disguise the bots. To the naked eye the bots seem harmless and helpful, all the while actually monitoring and spreading the disease that is CFS. The AR goggles/ocular implants see past the holograms.

Just One More Thing


The cannon used to subdue runners so the bot can overtake them has been advanced. It fires a four foot strand of thin high tensile steel cable the thigh region of the legs. when the cable catches on itself it locks. Think steel Velcro. This allows for the bot to get in taser range and incapacitate the person till a human arrives to take them into custody.
