Hard Fork 19 In Five Days
There is a fork coming our way. To be exact:
Steem Equality 0.19.0 Release Notes
The hardfork is schedule for Tue, 20 June 2017 15:00:00 UTC (11:00:00 EDT)
The major news in this fork are:
Linear Rewards
Square Root Curation Rewards Curve
Increase Vote Impact
How will these changes impact the platform and our experience?
I don't think that these are tectonic shifts. It will be business as usual with power holders getting more power and those without any power staying invisible and powerless.
I do hope that the future will prove me wrong.
Please, read this article by @calamus056: Why linear rewards in HF19 won't solve SteemIt's main problems, it sums the changes and the impact much better than my post. I agree with the majority of points in this article so I won't repeat them here.
Ps: previous fork was named simplicity; this one is equality.

Summing your conclusion up, there is no trouble for minnows. The hardfork is to bring about equality among steemit users. Though the gab is not bridged, it is better than the previous ones.
Yes, the gap in awards will be slightly smaller, probably. The gap in overall influence still remains huge.
There is newer any trouble. It is our decision to participate or not. we can always leave.

Well, you will get a bit more for your effort. In percentages this change can be reasonably big. But in absolute numbers ... Wait and see :)
