Music, a key tool in the teaching-learning process for children?

Hello dear friends!

In this opportunity I want to talk about a topic that I consider important as an elementary teacher: Music Theme that for many is trivial, for others outside the educational context, for me,  essential since we are born, through the process of teaching-learning and during all our life.

Music from very remote times has been for many, besides an incentive for the soul, as in the biblical case of Saul and David (1 Samuel 16:16) where it was used on many occasions to ward off bad thoughts and the anguish that assaulted the thought of King Saul, also as an instrument through which many have found a way to drain their thoughts, feelings of pain, sadness, joy, hope, love and desires, among others. Over the years and in the search for help elements, the effectiveness of music as a strategy for treatment and recovery in people with cognitive deficiencies or with any other disability in which logical functioning is compromised has also been corroborated.

Through music the individual can sensitively and logically organize a coherent combination of sounds and silences in which he respects the fundamental principles of melody, harmony and rhythm, through the intervention of complex psychoanimic processes, all in a conscious or an  unconscious way.

The music is within a structured logical system and these logical structures, each consisting of lines of thought and action that are:

A table of assessment of the duration of the sound through the musical figures.

A table of assessment of the frequency of the sound through the musical notes in the staff.

A harmonic framework based on tonality.

A rhythmic frame sustained in the air (rhythmic) and the compass.

A generic structural framework determined by rhythm, harmony and melody (sound building).

Several interpretative frameworks from Gender, Style, Historical Period, Intensity and Execution Regulators, Ornaments, Instrumental Technique and Personal Interpretation, plus an experiential framework determined by the musical director or the agreements and the group and individual interpretation in the orchestra.

As a mother and teacher I know that:

The learning process in students is conditioned by a series of complex and individual factors, such as the natural potential of the students, their cognitive capacity, their psychological maturation, or other factors of an environmental nature, such as the family situation, economic resources or cultural aspects, so important are these factors, such as the way in which learning is oriented, which directly influences the predisposition to learn.

Music allows us to move away from the traditional, from the routine to introduce ourselves in the productive construction of learning based on the interests of children in a different, fun way and with a better result.

Taking into account the aforementioned and knowing that Music is for everyone, even if you do not learn an instrument and that the main objective is that our children can get knowledge and that this process is inspiring, fun, that motivates them to follow learning We assure that, music is a multidisciplinary instrument that allows the strengthening of the teaching-learning processes par excellence.
