For this day we clear our homes and decorate for the festivals with lots of lights and, we celebrate this day with Sweets and lots of Crackers, On this day all the people buys new clothes for themselves and for their families also people buy things like Home Appliances  kitchen utensils, on this day even people buy expensive items such as cars and gold jewellery.

The most important thing is that we decorate our homes with Diya a hand made Lighting source 

People also buy gifts for their families and friends which typically includes Sweets like dry fruits.
