What I learned today #2: YOU SHOULD FORGIVE EVERYONE AND YOURSELF

Hello steemers, here is one more lesson that I learned the hard way.

This sounded so simple when I heard the concept, but it turnd out to be the hardest one.
On the other hand it was most liberating feeling when I managed it.

I read somewhere a few years ago that the key to true happines and peace lies in forgivness. At that point in my life, I couldn't comprehend that you should forgive someone who hurt you. I felt like a fool because in my mind that meant that they will do it again, and it will continue to hurt. I didn't realise that one had nothing to do with the other. You should forgive them because it frees you from that heavy burden, and makes more space in your mind for beautiful thoughts.

Here is how I do it:
No matter what the other person did, I start with the thought that it was not on purpose. Than I tell myself that they did the best they could, with the knowlage they had. And in the end I picture them on a stage in a theater, having all the good stuff I know they want in life. And I let them be.

To forgive yourself is strangely enough harder then forgiving others.
I repeat the same process mentoned, and I try never to judge myself to hard. I did the best I can, next time I'll do better.

It made me so peacefull and calm, knowing that we are all imperfect, all making mistakes along the way.
