Make YOUR Life More Fulfilling – Even God Cannot Help, but YOURSELF! This is HOW!!
Some “happy go lucky” folks always tend to enjoy their life no matter what their circumstances are. Some, on the other hand, are always suffering no matter how good their lives are. Some complaint about everything they see, feel or touch. While others learn from every experience and are grateful for their learning.
Life: how you see it differs from people to people. Well, everyone is unique being, if you know what I mean. So, finding a one fit for all the being in the world is just not appropriate. However, there is a thing that happens in our life that greatly influences whether one take his/her life as a blessing or a sin. It’s the experiences and how you perceive them.
Please give me permission to place this beautiful story from Hindu Mythology about the importance of experience.
Goddess Ashok Sundari (daughter of goddess Parvati as mentioned in Padma Puran) was once roaming in Nandanvana with her maids. A demon named Hunda saw her and attracted by her beauty, fell for her.
However, the goddess rejected the advances of the demon and informed him about her destiny to marry Nahusha (blessed by Goddess Parvati to marry Nahusa of the Lunar Dynasty). Huda thought of a trick.
Hunda successfully tricked Goddess Ashok Sundari and disguised himself as a widow, whose husband was killed by him (Huda), and asked Ashok Sundari to accompany her to her hermitage. The goddess went with the disguised demon and reached his palace. Later, she came to know of Hunda’s treachery and cursed him to be killed by Nahusha and escaped to her parents' abode Kailash.
Hunda gets after Nahusha who happens to be an infant at that point in time. He kidnaps the infant Nahusha, however, was rescued by a maid of Hunda and delivers him to sage Vashisth for care and safekeeping.
Hunda keeps searching for Nahusaha. As he gets closer to Nahusaha, it becomes more and more difficult to keep him safe from the demon there is a mention of conversation between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Goddess: There are many years for Nahusa to mature, but the evil karma of Hunda has reached its peak.
Lord (in his calm voice): Everything will happen at the right time.
Goddess (with anxiety and stress in her voice): Can’t we just accelerate his growth. Can’t we make him adult this instant and kill the devil?
Lord: We might be able to mature him this instant, but he will be lacking the experiences, and skills that come with it. It is of utmost importance for him to get all the experiences necessary for Nahusa to understand his place in the universe and kill the devil. Of course, we can mature him, make him an adult, but we cannot instill experiences in him. Let him take his time.
This story beautifully shows how experience is important and the lessons learned by experiences cannot be installed even by gods but has to felt and learned from within. Add more life to your life – there is no option to have more experiences.
How you deal with the experiences in life is also very important. Your perception makes you happy or sad. No matter what, no one can deny experiences add to your life.
Every second you live in this world should make you a better person, only more experience can do this. Of course, your experiences are affected by your perspective, environment, and choices. People striving to become a percent better in everything they do view life positively than the rest of the world.
Bill Gates and other great influencers of the world often state that if you do not read five hours per week and don’t become better today than you were yesterday, your life is a waste. By reading, you will gain insights into the experiences of other’s life that can come handy in your life at a different part of your life. Simply put, you will gain more and more experiences leading to the better life.
