GLORY BE TO GOD; CELEBRATING MY SWEARING-IN

It was fun on Monday at Niger state NYSC orientation camp as the swearing in ceremony of the prospective corp members took place. The PCMs were seen in their colourful NYSC crested shirt, khaki trouser, cap and shoe. The swearing in ceremony was initially slated to start by 9am but commenced by 11:30am as a result of the late arrival of the presiding officer of the day who was the executive governor of Niger state.


The PCMs had to stayed in the sun with the military personnel and other distinguished guest had their seat under the canopy, waiting patiently for the arrival of the Governor
After waiting for almost 3hours the big man finally arrived and to the dismay of every one there present, he sent a commissioner to represent him. This didnt go too well with everyone as we grumbled as he was the one we've been longing for to see and have painstakingly waited for him to come without even minding the scorching sun.


The programme finally stated and we did everything according to requirement. The chief judge of the state anchored the swearing in section and we were addressed Corp Member in lieu of the previous PCM after the swearing in.
The programme took 45minutes and everything was wrapped up.


Apart for waiting under the sun for hours, the programme was a successful one sandwiched with fun embedded activities. The tug of war between the fat ladies and the slim guy was the most funny as the ladies dragged the guys to the ground on 2 occasions making them the winner of the section.
Pictures, pleasantries, hugs, and entertainment followed suit. It was a nice experience
Having won the heart of the camp commandant with our performance and attitude he pronounced other activities suspended and asked us to have fun for the rest of the day. We gave him three hearty cheers for this and he was impressed
