Life Simple ..
Gak Got nothing, but lots of love ..
Lively Life
Have a lot of treasure, but miserable
Like Corruptors ..
(Like Corruptor, Slank, 2008)
A street singer chanting Slank new flagship song above the bus I was traveling on the way to the office this morning. beside me sitting an elderly man with a gray hair that almost covered his whole head seemed to really enjoy the song by nodding his head to the rhythm. Her lips smile.
"The song is good," he said, opening the conversation.
I nodded in agreement.
"Yes sir, just amit-amit deh, lest we have a lot of wealth but instead live miserable life," I said softly.
"Bener, dik. Simple life, especially in times of global financial crisis like now, so the key to make us stay, "said the father was excited.
"But sir, even if life is simple, a lot of love, but no money, still wrote miserable sir," I argued.
The father gave a big smile. He looked at me deeply.
"Yes, you are right. Generally indeed, many who think, the base of the misery is in the money. and most people, by the looks of it, every rich person must be happy and every poor person must be miserable. But happiness is not about talking about money. The size is here nih, "said the Bapak while pointing at his chest. "Heart", he added slowly.
I bit my lip.
"Do not be confused first, dik. Now I want to ask, whether the sister was satisfied and happy with the handphone that is owned at this time? Is there no desire to get and buy a better mobile phone, more sophisticated, more complete than the present? try to answer honestly, "said the father while looking at me full of investigation.
Clumsily, I stared sadly at my handphone. no doubt, I have long had a desire to have the latest generation of mobile phones that definitely have more advanced features and complete, but there is no cost available to buy it until now.
"Honestly sir, I am not satisfied and indeed, in my heart, there is a desire to have a better mobile phone than I have now," I said slowly and slightly blush.
The father smiled faintly.
He did not respond immediately to staring at the window of the bus. we just entered the Cikunir expressway. A long queue of vehicles is visible at the toll booth.
"Often, happiness goes away because of excessive human desires," he muttered, as if to himself.
I looked at him confused.
the father took a deep breath, then looked at me closely.
"Maybe this time you are not happy or satisfied to have the latest generation of mobile phones. Once, if you finally get your dream stuff, the happiness you will feel is temporary. Afterwards it will be mediocre. nothing special anymore. The sense of happiness can soon disappear and maybe even at the same time, will rise a new desire to get a better phone than you get now. This is a false happiness. a form of happiness caused by things beyond us. Not from the heart, "he said seriously.
I swallowed.
The father took a deep breath. He resumed.
"Have you ever imagined that happiness is an unconditional situation. no need to have anything to be happy. A situation where when you can say boldly, in your heart, "Even though I am the poorest person in the world, I will remain happy". You do not put happiness "outside" but "inside". Here. in my heart, "he said, pointing back at his chest.
happiness, hardness, wealth, wealth, peace.
