Bringing Happiness

in #happiness8 years ago

O you seekers of happiness, there are three people saying I want to quote, and please read and reflect carefully:

"Now I am much better, physically, financially, mentally and almost in every way ..." (JW)

"A great experience ..." (MB)

"I have never been able to respect others as I feel now ..." (CR)

Superb speeches are not they? The proper speech uttered by those who have reached the peak of happiness. You want to be like them? If I say that the three of them say the above sentence after a training session, would you like to attend the training? Want ...? Well, many who nodded their heads.

OK, it might need to be a little explained about who's saying the above quote. JW, is Jim Wright, a former member of the House of Representatives of the United States who was forced to step down disrespectfully for violating the code of ethics, MB is Moreese Bickham, ex-prisoner, the above quote is a pronouncement after his prison term, and CR is Christopher Reeves, the Superman who utters the above sentence after being paralyzed. All uttered the above words after undergoing a very heavy "training" in his life. Well, you want to follow the "training of happiness" like them? Do not want? Hehehe ... why not now?

Yes, you may shake your head simultaneously. At the same time, it may be curious how one can say such wonderful things, after a disaster. While you may have followed dozens of motivational training and devoured hundreds of self help books, and have not been able to pronounce the sentences as above.

Everyone would want happiness. But what is happiness? What is the meaning of happiness according to "a" Lori and Reba Schapel, a very happy and capable pair of conjoined twins who, until adulthood, are never willing to undergo a separation operation, similar to the happiness of a fancy Paris Hilton and inherit the Hilton business empire, yet it still hassle with drug use?

So, if happiness is so important, then what is happiness?

Who is happier, George Eastman is the pioneer of the photography process, one of the pioneers of modern management principles, and the founder of Kodak, whose camera sales dominate the world, or Adolph Fischer, a union member in US history who was arrested for actions never made, prosecuted with a mercenary witness, and sentenced to death? You, as well as me, certainly believe George Eastman is happier. But why is it that Fischer says "This is the happiest moment of my life ..." seconds before the gantry rope took his life. And George Eastman, committed suicide in his study!

The above quote I took from the book "Stumbling on Happiness" written very intelligently by Daniel Gilbert. The book that summarizes the latest thoughts on happiness in this very humorous way is indeed in many details capable of shaking our knowledge and beliefs about happiness. Unfortunately there is no instant answer in the book "Stumbling on Happiness". If you're a fan of detective stories and have a high sense of curiosity, you'll really enjoy Dan Gilbert's writings that will get you into the halls of thought of happiness. Conversely, if you are a fan of self-help books hoping to get practical tips, you will be disappointed, because this book is not a self-help book at all. In fact, Gilbert, throughout his book leaves a big question, why humans always fail to predict what things will make him feel happy in the future.

Happiness is so important, almost all agree. Always "feel good" was the message at the end of Rhonda Byrne's The Secret movie. Use "the Power of Positive Feeling", as Mr. Erbe Sentanu wrote in his book Quantum Ikhlas. Even further he said that happiness is the nature of man. But why so often do we not feel happy. Though we understand that in law of Attraction is said "likes attract likes", that happy feeling will attract things that will make us happy. But why is it so difficult to always bring happiness in our hearts.

Sometimes we feel an overwhelming happiness, when we are gathering and joking with the family. But that feeling can just disappear when we are alone. We feel so happy when it comes to realizing what we want, but not how long anxiety and worry re-ambush our hearts. If likened to our hearts as a home, happiness often just stop by as a guest, stay a while, and go again, but still reluctantly settled into residents in our hearts. Well, if so, how can we always "feel good"?

Trying to bring happiness through material possessions, lots of money, luxury homes, good cars. But even more unhappy, because it always felt less money, less good car, and the house less luxurious. Not to mention if you lose the material. There are also trying to achieve happiness with various activities. Starting from parties, travel abroad, to a concert or a sporting event. However, the sense of happiness ends when the party ends. Happiness goes when they have to go back home, or when the concert or game ends.

Because everything you want to have or do before, it just merely presents the fun. But not happiness.

So, how to bring happiness?

In the book "How We Choose To Be Happy" written by Rick Foster and Greg Hicks this question becomes a central theme. How can we bring continuous happiness in our hearts? Apparently according to Foster and Hicks, after researching people who are unbelievably happy, there are 9 choices that are always done by these people. If you want to bring happiness in a sustainable and conscious, you can imitate their choices. Long enough to discuss all. However, in my opinion, to get started, at least you can follow two things:

Intend To Be Happy. Sounds so simple, but how rarely do we do. Can you start now, every day, commit and promise in your heart that today you will feel happiness, whatever experience you will experience? And throughout the day, keep your awareness that you've chosen to be happy, no matter what happens in front of you. Every morning when it will start your day, remember your commitment again.

Take responsibility. You alone are responsible for your happiness. So, from now on, whatever events you experience, the choice to be happy or unhappy, is in your hands. Never blame someone else. Eliminate the phrase that: "I am so unhappy because the ..." People who are wonderfully happy, always feel in control, not a victim of the actions of others or events that are in the natural. They control their lives consciously, and always choose to be happy.

Two options are so easy to read, yet challenging enough to practice. I'm also practicing. InshaAllah by running two choices of people who are unbelievably happy before, may be happier happiness to stop in your heart. To then settle. Forever.
