This is amazing sleeping weather!

in #hammock7 years ago

Here it is summer time and I'm loving the weather tonight. It's 57 degrees and a little bit of a breeze and I can see the stars as I get my hammock ready for the night. That's right, I said hammock. I would take a hammock over a bed any night of the week now.

This is my setup. I have a rainfly over the hammock so to keep the weather out so you can't directly see the hammock that's underneath. Just to let you know that is a daytime picture and it's dark out.

I have had this setup and I believe it's an 11 foot hammock. It's made by grand trunk, and the rainfly matches the hammock but it's blue while the hammock is green and tan.
I will make a seperate writeup about why I did what I did as the setup. Everybody finds what's comfortable for them and that's what works for them.

I love the bugnet that it has, but it hangs down and drives me crazy sometimes and also it holds in the heat and when it's hot and muggy it really sucks.

I have a sleeping pad under me so I don't get a cold back and on a night like tonight it comes in handy. All I use is blankets and I've slept in this thing when it was 5 degrees earlier this year and it was tolerable.

If you haven't tried this before, i urge you to try it. You will have the best nights sleep that you'll ever have. You won't be stiff and hurting when you get up in the morning. As a contrary to belief you can sleep flat in a hammock. You sleep a little more crossways in it and they have what's called a footbox at the bottom. It's just a little extra material that you can push out with your feet and that allows your feet to be lower.
It's not for everybody and I'm well aware of that but I love it and have slept in this thing going on 5 or 6 months total between last year and this year.

Try one out and tell me how you feel about it or if you already use one. Be on the lookout for my my next hammock article and if you want to know more I would be glad to help.you out, and I will tell you what I would love to have next.

Have a good night! This looks so peaceful :)

Yes it is, very peaceful. There's no dogs barking for a change lol.
The coyotes just got done howling and yipping though.
Have a great night as well!
Thanks for your comment.

Coyotes just started here, time to bring my dogs in.

You're welcome :)

That sounds like good weather. Where I'm from we get over 100 degrees F during the summer and maybe 30 degrees in the winter.

We actually have a wide range of temperatures. We get over 103 in the summer sometimes but -6 in the winter or so but that's the extremes but not normal. We have our 4 seasons and this year it's been raining a lot, but warm. Last year we had a draught in my area so it was dryer than most years. It's a guessing game really and you just have to.enjoy what you get.
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it!

It looks it's cozy inside :)

I love hammacking. I have slept every night in this hammock since march. I keep warm with blankets and sleeping bag and I have a comfortable pad that I use. I highly suggest trying out a hammock for yourself if you haven't already. I get better rest in this thing than I do on a regular bed.

I'm in my hammock right now matter in fact. I hear everything outside. Coyotes howling, crickets chirping. Tree frogs talking to each other. The occassional bird chirping. You get the picture. I love it.

I appreciate you commenting on this topic and I hope you take the time to experience the same joy that I get every night. I'd be happy to give you recommendations on gear if you are interested. Just let me know and I'll tell you what I have and what I would have gotten instead or what I know now but didn't know whwn I got this setup.

Have a great night!
