Hairbrushes and combs have always been great allies for styling and hair care. Used for combing, untangling knots and shaping, they are available in many variations. In fact, each brush has a precise use, is produced with different materials and is aimed at a particular type of hair. Find out which hair brushes are the best for your hair type so you don't miss a beat in terms of look!

Brushes and combs for straight hair

If you have straight, long, thick hair, the most suitable brush is the wide, rectangular brush with handle, with a "disciplining" effect. You can find it in different materials: ceramics and plastic help to reduce frizz, while wooden hairbrushes prevent hair from getting electrified. If you want to dry your hair and turn it into a cascade of waves and curls with a natural effect, the brush should be round and narrow.

The smaller the diameter of the brush, the smaller the curl will be: particularly small sizes are dedicated to short or medium length hair.

Also in this case you can find it made of wood, ceramic, with boar bristles or metal. This last version allows you to obtain more defined curls without the odious frizzy effect: use it in combination with ContestaRockHair Shine, the product that gives shiny and silky hair!

According to Mystraightener blog, the round brush with natural bristles, usually made of wild boar, is perfect for combing long hair both straight and dry. Its conformation in fact allows distributing along with the entire hair the oil produced by the scalp, helping to make the hair shiny. It is also the ideal tool if you want to remove all residues of dry shampoo.

The most suitable brushes for fine hair are those with wild boar bristles, able to rebalance skin and hair.

With a spherical brush, on the other hand, you can dry your hair giving it volume and wavy shape. But it's not suitable for untangling knots.

Curly and wavy hair brushes

Among the various types of hairbrushes, there are some that are suitable for curly or wavy hair, more difficult to treat than smooth hair. An example is a wide-toothed comb, perfect for "opening" curls; choosing it in wood you can cancel their electrostatic charge. A plastic brush with soft bristles, and not thick, is instead the right option to tame them, avoiding to create the "wool" effect. Which, if not created ad hoc for specific reasons, can be quite unsightly.
To make sure you don't ruin your hair, always try to choose professional hair brushes and use specific products for curls. Like a curling shampoo and curling conditioner, specific to untangle and give curly hair the hydration and softness it needs.

Wet hair brushes

What are the hairbrushes to use in the shower? Not all of them can perform this important task without damaging them. To loosen the knots and avoid stressing the hair, the brush is the most popular. Of the latest generation, it adapts to any type of hair and is also perfect for extensions, because it reduces the risk of breaking them. Very practical also to carry in your bag, it is the last "object of desire" to have a look always neat and tidy.
The wide-tooth comb and the silicone or plastic brushes, always with wide teeth, represent the optimal solution to put the mask or the balm on. The plastic does not absorb the product and allows you to gently massage the hair.

Hairbrushes

Choosing the right brush, in addition to protecting your style, is also the first step to making perfect hairstyles. If you need to get a straight line or backcombing straight hair, then you need to use a fine-tooth comb.

The round brush with a metal roller is used to give volume to the crease, or to create waves if your hair is straight or not very wavy. The same goes for the round brush with a ceramic roller: used in combination with the hairdryer, it allows you to create hairstyles in a short time. The ceramic, overheating, is able to give support in a shorter time. The comb with two or more tails is the ideal ally to create more complex looks, even on curly hair, and original zigzag stripes.

Not all hairbrushes are the same. It's only by using the ones that best suit the hair characteristics that you can be sure to take care of it properly. Don't forget to clean and sanitize them regularly, to prevent sebum or styling product residues from dirtying your beloved hair.
