Looking In On My Neighbours

Don't feel too bad for me. I live across from the beach but have only a partial view of the water. Boo hoo. Yes. I know. I'm east facing, get lots of sun, but do not get to watch the sunset unless I brave the wilds of 420 legalization. Let's just say that I'm whole lot happier if I don't inhale. That stuff isn't for everyone and certainly not for my 9 year old. Big city woes.

But with every limitation, existence offers an improved alternative for those on the lookout. It was my son that spotted this amazing reflected sunset on our neighbour's windows. I've watched fireworks this way too and I prefer the reflected versions. There is something just a little more magical seeing light shimmer on glass. Plus it feeds my love of looking at tall and interesting buildings.

Thank you. Violet:)

I love the vintage of the curvy concrete building in the first picture with the Carrera style reflecting glass.

It's San Francisco in 1974

I'm picturing Hal Holbrook and Dustin Hoffman waking out of the building in flared suits off for lunch with Diane Keaton who would be wearing a tartan skirt and white blouse.

While Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford look on from the balcony.

Wow. We do get a lot of stars living and working in Vancouver but they tend to opt for new buildings:)Believe it or not it was just normal glass but the sunset was particularily colorful:)

It is really more magical seeing light shimmer on glass photography.

It is. Thank you, Kam:)

That is a very clever way to get a sweet sunset Pryde. Reminded me of Hitchcocks movie. Rear Window. Classic.

Thank you, Michael. Believe it or not I have not seen that one:)

If you like twisty plot lines it's well worth a watch. I'll say no more. No spoilers! 😀

I do like twisty plot lines:)

My pleasure Pryde now I really musy go stack some zzzz's almost two hours after I said goodnight lol

Michael... but you knew that? haha

The final image has a very graphic feel to it.

Thank you, Denise. I couldn't get the detail I wanted on the zoom in and so I went to town with the editing:)

I wonder how the fireworks look from that.
Anyway, still seem to be a good place to chill the day.

Very much so. I will be sure to get some shots this summer of the fireworks off the windows:)

I love reflected sunsets!

Thank you, Ross:)
