STEEMIT HAIKU CONTEST # WEEK 20: Rust
Outside my window
A neglected tractor rusts
Weeds grow through flat tires
This poem was inspired by another contest, but was not the entry. It was written after I read the topic but before I read the rules, which had no syllable requirements and caused me to re-imagine the thought:
A neglected tractor
Weeds grow
Through flat tires
In the second poem the rust is still there (you don't imagine a neglected tractor not rusting, do you?), but the original poem has more action for saying it. I like them both.
Congrats on winning 1st place in the Haiku contest!
Thank you, you are kind :)
